ABOUT ULTRASOUND THERAPY
Ultrasound therapy uses high-pitch sound waves to stimulate tissue, by creating vibrations which heat up the tissue which can help reduce pain.
While the sound waves are delivered in high frequency to the targeted area, it cannot be detected by the human ear. The ultrasound head of the ultrasound device is applied to the patient’s skin and releases sound waves which are absorbed by the tissue, ligaments, and tendons beneath the skin.
It is commonly used to treat conditions such as joint inflammation, osteoarthritis, muscle strains, and rheumatoid arthritis in conjunction with physical therapy.
